The Annual Income Tax Report must be filed annually between early April and late June. Marking this deadline on your calendar is essential, as late submissions may result in penalties and surcharges from the tax authorities. The general schedule for filing in Spain is as follows:
- April: The online filing period opens through the tax authorities’ portal. You can also request corrections or modify an already filed report.
- May: In addition to online filing, you can submit your report in person at the tax office by scheduling an appointment.
- June: The campaign for the Annual Income Tax Report generally ends at the end of this month (usually on June 30). This is the last chance to submit the report without incurring penalties.
For reports with an amount due, you can split the payment into two parts: 60% upon filing and the remaining 40% in November. There are also deferral options in specific cases, such as justified financial difficulties.
