You need a bank account to accept payments from clients, pay expenses related to your professional activity, and settle taxes. You can use your personal bank account, although we recommend using an account exclusively for your professional activity to avoid mixing it with your personal transactions.
Since taxes and self-employment fees are paid through direct debit to your bank account, the bank account you use must be from a bank operating in Spain, with a Spanish IBAN starting with "ES".
You can check the banks collaborating with the Tax Office (Hacienda) and those collaborating with Social Security.
IMPORTANT! Your bank account must accept direct debits from third parties so that you have no issues when paying your taxes or your monthly Social Security fee.
